CERT Emergency Communications Roll Call Dialog

Use the following dialog for our weekly Area Communications Roll Call.

Announcer: "This is (say your first name). I will conduct the CERT Area 28 Emergency Communications Roll Call. The Area 28 roll call takes place on the FRS channel 8.5 using 2-way radios on the third Sunday of each month at 8:10 p.m.

The purpose of the Area 28 emergency communications roll call is to provide training for neighborhood coordinators, who are the key point of contact for communications during emergencies. In the event of an actual emergency, please monitor channel 8.5 as soon as possible in order to relay information to the Area Coordinator about injuries, problems, issues, and needs in your neighborhood.

The Area Coordinator will work with community leaders to coordinate the dispatch of needed help, supplies, and aid, with the intent to help the injured and to respond to urgent needs. The channel used by the District for District communications is channel 6.5. the District has a roll call on the third Sunday of each month at 8:20pm.

This is a directed net. When you are asked to check in, the Area Coordinator or person directing the net will address you by your first name along with the name of your neighborhood. When you respond, please give your name, the name of your neighborhood, and whether or not you have anything to report. (Say "No traffic" if you have nothing to report.)

Response: "This is Claudia, on Penman, no traffic".

Announcer: "Thank you Claudia".

Announcer: "2200 South, Carol".

Response: “This is Carol, on 2200 S, no traffic".

Announcer: "Thank you, Carol".

Announcer: "Have any of the Neighborhood Coordinators joined us who missed their roll call?"

Announcer: "Thank you to all those who participated in this Emergency Communications Roll Call."

Announcer: "Those with Ham radios may monitor frequency 147.500 for the District 7 (Bountiful East Stake) roll call, which begins at 8:20 p.m.”.

Announcer: "At 8:30 p.m., the South Davis CERT Region will conduct a roll call on frequency 147.440 from the Kaysville/Layton Storehouse.

Announcer: "This concludes the Communications roll call for the neighborhoods in Area 28, District 7. The next Communications roll call will be next Sunday at 8:10 p.m., Thank you, Good night."

Note: When we are conducting our Area 28 roll call, if others are using frequency 8.5, the Area Coordinator will say the following, “This is the Area 28 Emergency Coordinator: we will wait 15 seconds between our transmissions and ask you to do the same to allow time for others to communicate”.

Additional note: The Area Coordinator may ask for a report about any CERT training meetings you have had in your neighborhoods, or some other item.
