Each Sunday, at 8:10 p.m., we conduct a CERT Area-28 Communication roll call. Neighborhood Coordinators will monitor their 2-way radio, Channel 8 at that time. At 8:10 p.m. we will begin a communication roll call that will last a few minutes. The format is as follows,
Communication Roll Call
Mike: "This is the CERT Area 28 Coordinator, Mike. The Area 28 roll call is conducted on channel 8 each Sunday at 8:10pm. The purpose of the Area 28 roll call is to test communication with the 8 neighborhoods in our area. Each neighborhood will be identified by a letter and each Neighborhood Coordinator will be addressed by their first name."
Area Coordinator: "This is Mike (or Area Coordinator's first name), Area 28, let’s begin:"
Area Coordinator: "Neighborhood S (2200 South), Nathan".
Response: “This is Nathan, neighborhood S, no traffic.
Area Coordinator: "Thank you, Nathan".
Area Coordinator: Neighborhood W (150 West), Nancy"
Response: "This is Nancy, neighborhood W, no traffic"
Area Coordinator: "Thank you Nancy"
Area Coordinator: Neighborhood M (Main Street), Bill"
Response: "This is Bill, neighborhood M, no traffic"
Area Coordinator: "Thank you Bill"
Area Coordinator: Neighborhood L (Lower Wicker), Sheila"
Response: "This is Sheila, neighborhood L, no traffic"

After each neighborhood has been announced the Area Coordinator will say, "Have any of the Neighborhood Coordinators joined us who missed their roll call?"
At the end of the test, the Area Coordinator will say, "This concludes the Communication roll call for the 8 neighborhoods in Area 28, District 7. The next Communication roll call will be next Sunday at 8:10 p.m., Thank you, Good night."
Those with Ham radios may monitor frequency 147.500 for the District 7 (Bountiful East Stake) roll call, which begins at 8:20pm”.
example: Ham Operator will say, "This is KF7-NQJ (their call sign), Mike (their first name), no traffic".
Area Coordinator: "Area 28 reports that __-out-of-8 neighborhoods responded to the Area 28 Communication Roll Call."
At 8:30pm, those with Ham radios may monitor frequency 147.440 for the Kaysville Storehouse roll call.
Note: When we are conducting our Area 28 roll call, if others are using frequency 8, the Area Coordinator will say the following, “This is the Area 28 Emergency Coordinator: we will wait 15 seconds between our transmissions and ask you to do the same to allow time for others to communicate”. The Area Coordinator may ask for a report about any CERT training meetings you have had in your neighborhoods, or some other item.
